Want to lift a refrigerator with two fingers? A carton clamp forklift attachment allows you to do just that!
Carton clamps gently but firmly grasp:
- Appliances and white goods
- Stacks of TVs or other consumer electronics
- Cases of food, wine or other beverages
- Just about any unitized product
With a carton clamp you can handle goods regardless of pick place or location, prevent dents in white goods and minimize product damage.
If it’s been a while since you looked into buying a carton clamp forklift attachment, there’s a video you absolutely need to see.
Carton Clamp Forklift Attachments
Today’s carton clamp attachments are so advanced, even an inexperienced forklift operator can use one. Check out the video below…
Cascade also makes carton clamp forklift attachments that are easy to use. Sensors measure the load and automatically apply the correct amount of force – taking the guesswork out of how much pressure to use.
Different Types of Forklift Carton Clamps
Carton clamp attachments are so popular, there are several different types. Below is a list of the most commonly used forklift clamps. If you don’t see one below that seems like a good fit, let us know.
PLEASE NOTE: we have separate articles about bale clamp forklift attachments and drum clamp forklift attachments.
Standard Carton Clamp
Capacity: 1750 - 4850 lbs.
Efficiently move consumer electronics, white goods, unitized loads of packaged food (canned or boxed) and beverages (including wine). Can also be used to handle soft items such as paper products and plastics.
Single Double/Doublewide Carton Clamp
Capacity: 2500 lbs.
Single-double (aka doublewide) attachments clamp and carry twice as much. They’re just like a regular single double attachment, but with an additional clamp blade instead of extra forks.
They’re ideal for distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, warehouses – any operation seeking to operate more efficiently and gain a competitive edge. Watch this video to see a doublewide forklift carton clamp in action.
Tipping Clamp
Capacity: 2500-3500 lbs.
Tipping clamps are specifically designed for magnum and T-loaded applications. The clamp is designed to grab a large appliance at the top, then gently tip it into a horizontal position (see video below).
Razorback Clamp
Capacity: 1950 - 2000 lbs.
Thin, non-articulating arms are perfect for sliding between tightly-stacked loads in trailers and containers.
4 Things to Know Before BUYING A Carton Clamp
Do you want a removable attachment?
Before you buy a forklift clamp attachment, decide whether you want a permanent attachment or one designed to be easily disconnected. Removing an attachment without quick disconnects on the hydraulics can be very time-consuming.
Do you need an attachment that can handle pallets?
Most (but not all) carton clamp forklift attachments can pick up both palletized and non-palletized loads.
Capacity and Stability
Adding a forklift clamp will de-rate your forklift’s capacity, and if you use a clamp that tips, the load can affect the forklift’s stability. To get an idea of how much an attachment will impact the capacity of your forklift, contact one of our forklift attachment experts or try this capacity calculator.
Updated Data Plate
Adding an attachment is considered modifying your forklift, and OSHA requires you to get a new data plate (also known as a name plate).
Buying a forklift attachment from a reputable dealer saves time and money. A dealer can confirm your new attachment can be safely used with your existing equipment and save you the headache of obtaining a new data plate.
